As excitement builds for Spark Game Arena Live, Logitech G is set to make a major impact as one of the event’s premiere sponsors. The festival, scheduled for Saturday, 7 September 2024, at Tamaki Makaurau’s Spark Arena, will showcase Logitech G’s cutting-edge gaming technology and their significant role in New Zealand’s burgeoning gaming scene.
With sim racing speeding to the forefront of the gaming world, Logitech G is turbocharging the action with their own thrilling competition. Partnering with McLaren Auckland, their high-octane activation space will showcase the G923 racing wheel and PRO Wheels alongside the sleek McLaren Coupe 750S.
Fans can put pedal to the metal in the Logitech G Hot Lap Challenge, racing on the iconic Nürburgring Grand Prix Circuit in Forza Motorsport. While plenty of Logitech G prizes are up for grabs, only the driver in pole position will race away with the grand prize: a set of Logitech G PRO wheels and pedals valued at $2,799.85, along with a real-world McLaren hot lap experience at Hampton Downs Motorsport Park.
Fabien Degueldre, General Manager at Logitech, says, “At Logitech G, we’re all about pushing the limits of performance and excitement. Partnering with McLaren Auckland and bringing this adrenaline-pumping experience to Spark Game Arena Live is a perfect way to showcase our innovative technology and fuel the passion of New Zealand’s gaming community. We can’t wait to see who will take the virtual track and race for the ultimate prize.”
Simon Evans, McLaren Brand Manager, adds, “Logitech’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge gaming experiences mirrors our dedication to push the boundaries of technology and performance. This partnership not only strengthens the global bond between McLaren and Logitech G but also brings it to life here in New Zealand, allowing us to connect with an audience that shares our passion for precision, speed and the thrill of competition.”
Set to be a landmark event bringing the best of gaming to Aotearoa, Spark Game Arena Live will welcome up to 8000 attendees across two exhilarating sessions, including a morning and afternoon block lasting five hours each.
A highlight of the festival’s morning session will be the second instalment of “The Rise Cup featuring Fortnite,” in partnership with LetsPlay.Live. Building on last year’s success with over 1400 participants, this nationwide tournament will see guests battling for the title of ultimate champion, on gaming stations kitted out with a range of Logitech G products including the PRO X TKL, PRO X superlight 2, PRO X 2 and the G840 XL desk mat.
Players will compete for a share of the incredible Fortnite prize pool, exceeding $240,000, including Logitech G equipment, as well as cash and other prizes. The tournament will be broadcast live to Fortnite fans around the globe.
In addition, ticketholders will enjoy interactive experiences, the finals of an Esports tournament played live, and guest appearances from internationally recognised professional gamers including Sydney-based Twitch star Taylor Morgan, and homegrown hosts of the Extremely Casual Gamers podcast, Ellie Hardwood and Guy Mansell.
