Hands-on Review: Logitech G Pro X2 Superstrike Gaming Mouse

The pursuit of marginal gains has long defined the upper tiers of PC gaming hardware, where even the smallest advantage can separate a clean victory from a frustrating near-miss. With the Logitech G Pro X2 Superstrike Gaming Mouse, Logitech is clearly aiming squarely at that space – pushing forward with new click technology while keeping much of the established formula intact. The result is a product that feels both forward-thinking and strangely familiar, depending on how you approach it.

The first thing that struck me was just how instantly recognisable the hand-feel is. If you have spent any time with Logitech’s recent high-end mice, this will feel like slipping back into something well-worn and dependable. That is undeniably a strength – it removes any adjustment period and allows you to get straight into use. At the same time, it does soften the perceived impact of the “next-gen” pitch. For something positioned as a meaningful leap forward, the physical experience is more evolutionary than revolutionary.

In terms of weight, the Superstrike sits firmly in the ultra-light category. It is impressively easy to move, to the point where it almost disappears under your hand. For competitive play, that is clearly the goal – less resistance, faster reactions, and ultimately less delay between intention and action. That said, I found it drifting slightly beyond my personal comfort zone. There is a fine balance between agility and control, and while this mouse excels at the former, it may feel a touch insubstantial for users who prefer a bit more grounded feedback.

The headline feature, of course, is the click system. On a technical level, it is undeniably clever, and I can see the appeal for players chasing rapid inputs. However, in practice, it did not quite land for me. The clicks felt softer – almost mushy – and lacked the crisp tactile confirmation I tend to rely on. That audible and physical feedback is part of how I register actions subconsciously, and its absence created a slight sense of uncertainty. There is a clear use case for quieter environments where reduced noise is a benefit, but in the context of high-intensity gaming, it felt like a trade-off rather than a straight upgrade.

That experience also ties into performance expectations. While the mouse is clearly capable, I did not personally notice any meaningful improvement in click-rate. To be fair, that likely says more about the limits of my own reaction speed than the hardware itself. Still, it does highlight an important point – this is a product whose benefits are most apparent at the higher end of the skill spectrum. Outside of that space, the advantages become more subtle, and in some cases, harder to justify.

Battery life, on the other hand, is a straightforward win. It holds charge well and removes the need for frequent top-ups, which is exactly what you want from a wireless unit. The optional compatibility with Logitech’s PowerPlay wireless charging system is also a thoughtful addition. For long sessions – whether that is competitive training or simply losing track of time in a demanding game – it offers a seamless way to keep things running without interruption.

From a value perspective, the Superstrike sits in an interesting position. The pricing makes sense when viewed through the lens of innovation and cutting-edge technology. However, what you feel in day-to-day use does not always align with that premium. If the click system does not resonate with you, or if you are not operating at a level where its benefits become tangible, it can come across as slightly overpriced for the experience delivered.

It is also worth acknowledging the packaging, which continues to reflect a growing shift in Logitech’s approach. The move towards predominantly paper-based, recyclable materials is both noticeable and welcome, reinforcing a more environmentally conscious direction for the brand. It may not directly influence performance, but it does contribute to the overall ownership experience in a way that feels considered rather than token.

Overall, the Logitech G Pro X2 Superstrike Gaming Mouse is a technically ambitious piece of hardware that delivers clear advantages in the right hands, but feels more situational than universally transformative. Its lightweight design, strong battery performance, and forward-looking features make it a compelling option for competitive players, yet the softer click feel and subtle real-world gains may leave others questioning the premium. It is an excellent mouse, but one whose true value depends heavily on how – and how seriously – you intend to use it.
