OPPO Reno16 – A Creative Studio in Your Pocket

The new OPPO Reno16 Series smartphones have arrived in New Zealand, and they’re packed with photography and editing tools that make it easy and fun to create expressive content straight from your phone. In New Zealand, the range includes the Reno16 Pro and Reno16 F. Both are fashionable accessories designed for people who see their tech as an extension of their personal style, with a new 3D Pop Planet Design among the three colourways.

Whether capturing a festival, styling the perfect food shot, documenting travel or creating content for their socials, users will love the creative features of the Reno16 Series – and the practical features work just as hard.

True to OPPO’s longstanding approach, both the Reno16 Pro and Reno16 F deliver premium design and features at a more accessible price compared to competing devices. OPPO New Zealand Managing Director Morgan Halim says the Reno Series has evolved alongside the way people use their smartphones today.

“For many people, especially younger consumers, a smartphone isn’t simply a piece of technology anymore. It’s part of how they express themselves, connect with others and tell their story,” he says. “The Reno Series has always been about standout design and aesthetics, and the Reno16 Series takes that to the next level. These phones look great, and their powerful creative tools give New Zealanders a phone that feels as individual as they are.”

Designed for self-expression
Every Reno generation introduces a fresh design identity, and the Reno16 Series continues that tradition with one of OPPO’s boldest designs yet.

The Pop White edition features industry-first HoloVerse 3D Technology that uses millions of micro-lenses to reconstruct light in space, giving the casing’s floating, planet-inspired effect visual depth and dimension. Across the series the one-piece cold-sculpted back cover flows seamlessly into the camera module for a clean, uninterrupted appearance – aside from the Pop White version of Reno16 F which uses an integrated transparent injection molding process.

The Reno16 Pro features a compact 6.32-inch display that’s comfortable to use with one hand, while the Reno16 F has a larger 6.57-inch display for an even more immersive viewing experience.

Made to be shared
The Reno16 Series is designed for people whose camera roll is constantly growing. From everyday moments and outfit shots to travel, food and social content, this smartphone makes it easier to capture, edit and share polished content directly from the device through AI-powered photography and editing tools.

Both the Reno16 Pro and Reno16 F feature a triple rear camera system designed to capture everything from portraits to sweeping landscapes – the Reno16 Pro boasts a 50MP Ultra Wide camera and 200MP Ultra Clear Main Camera as part of this, allowing users to crop and reframe photos while preserving exceptional detail.

On the Reno16 F is an 8MP Ultra Wide camera, and a new 50MP ultra-wide selfie camera on both models makes it easier to fit more people (or more of your outfit) into the frame, no selfie stick needed.

The Reno16 Series introduces a range of AI-powered creative features designed for fun and fresh content creation that are built directly into the Camera app. Pop Cam brings vintage-inspired photography styles, while AI Remix Collage lets users combine photos and videos into dynamic compositions complete with animated stickers, outlines and text.

A new Create hub within the Photos app brings together the AI editing tools, meaning you don’t have to rely on third-party editing apps. Video capabilities have also been enhanced, with features including 4K Auto Straighten Video helping keep footage level while filming on the move, alongside improved dual-view recording for smoother, more dynamic videos.

AI that keeps up with your creativity
The Reno16 Series is powered by ColorOS 16 and everyday tasks can also be made simpler and more intuitive with a range of intelligent new AI features. The new AI Snap Key provides instant access to AI Mind Space, allowing users to quickly capture, organise and revisit important information like screenshots from across their device. AI Bill Manager is another great AI Mind Space feature that can automatically recognise and organise digital payments and physical receipts into clear spending records and insights, and AI Mind Pilot works to deliver more relevant and context-aware assistance. AI Menu Translation is a specific tool that’s perfect for travellers, helping users understand overseas menus by generating visual explanations alongside translations.

Ready for everyday life
Whether creating content, gaming, working or streaming throughout the day, the Reno16 Series is designed to keep up. The Reno16 Pro has a 6000mAh Large Battery, while 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging means users can spend less time plugged in. On the Reno16 F, it’s a 6500mAh Large Battery with 45W SUPERVOOC Flash Charge.

Reno16 Pro’s smooth and responsive performance is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super Platform, along with AI HyperBoost 3.0, enhanced cooling and support for up to 144Hz refresh rates in supported games. The Reno16 F is no slouch either, powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7300. And both models feature enhanced durability, with IP68, IP69 and IP69K water and dust resistance ratings and displays that remain responsive even with wet or gloved hands.

Morgan Halim says OPPO continues to focus on creating technology that fits seamlessly into people’s lives. “We know people don’t just buy a phone based on specifications anymore. They want something that reflects their personality, feels great in the hand and helps them create effortlessly,” he says. “The Reno16 Series offers everything you could want from a design perspective along with intelligent features, powerful cameras and exceptional battery life. These devices are begging to be shown off, all while delivering outstanding value for New Zealand consumers.”
