OPPO has launched the 2025 OPPO Photography Awards, inviting creatives across New Zealand and around the world to share the beauty of everyday life through the lens of their OPPO phones. Since the competition’s inception, OPPO has received more than one million submissions from participants across 81 countries.
This year’s Awards are the biggest yet, offering an expanded prize pool, new categories and a focus on emotional, story-led photography that resonates beyond the screen.
The theme, ‘Super Every Moment’, celebrates the idea that even the most simple of scenes can be powerful when captured with care. Whether it’s a fleeting expression, an unexpected detail or a candid interaction, OPPO encourages users to see the extraordinary in the everyday.
The 2025 competition features eight entry categories: Snapshot, Youth (for those aged 18-24), Live Photo, Connection, Portrait, Vibe, Photo Series, and Environment.
The Awards are open to anyone using an OPPO phone and entries will be judged by a panel of six internationally renowned photographers. The judges include Hasselblad Masters Norwegian photographer Tina Tignesdottir Hult and Chinese photographer Tang Hui, as well as prolific American photographer Alec Soth and OPPO’s Senior Vice President Pete Lau.
Prizes this year total more than NZ$134,000 in value. The top Gold Award winner will take home over $42,000 ($25,000 USD) and a suite of flagship OPPO products, while Silver, Bronze and Honourable Mention recipients will also receive cash prizes and the latest devices.
Special awards include Jury’s Choice, Audience’s Choice, Regional Awards and a Youth Award recognising emerging talent.
OPPO’s advanced imaging system, LUMO, is central to this year’s competition. LUMO helps users capture not just how a moment looks, but how it feels. It includes cinematic features like bokeh, which gently blurs the background to make subjects stand out, aiming to create a look similar to professional cameras used in films.
Entries are open now via https://lumo.oppo.com/en and close at 5:00 AM NZDT on 21 November 2025.
